Project Manager

Columbus, Ohio – Onsite

Direct Hire

Salary $90- 130k a year, 100% benefits, bonus, car allowance

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for providing overall management and direction for projects and developing new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare bids and estimates for projects.
  • Plan, organize, and staff key field positions through internal channels.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Initiate and maintain communications with prime client and field team to facilitate activities.
  • Monitor/control work through direction of on-site field staff to ensure project is on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent company in project meetings and discussions.
  • Secure profitable work, create new business opportunities through current and prospective customers.
  • Manage financial aspects of the project including fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc. to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client.
  • Supervise the work of Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators, when assigned.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Director of Safety to ensure that field operation personnel have the appropriate training and resources to perform work in the safest manner possible.


Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience

  • Construction Management degree or equivalent -OR- extensive experience in electrical service work with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • LEED experience preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of electrical construction, design, finance, and management.
  • Ability to maximize employee performance through innovative and effective management techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of industry standards and best practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • Proficiency with project management and estimating software as well as MS Office Suite. Accubid experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations that can greatly impact company relationship with clients and project profitability.
  • Ability to work under supervision and independently.
  • Ability to deal effectively with people in actual job duties beyond giving and receiving instructions.
  • Be orderly and systematic in work.
  • See details and recognize errors, implementing corrective action as needed.
  • Use logical procedures in work.
  • Perform a variety of duties that may change frequently.
  • Understand ideas and present information clearly.
