Job Description:
The Team: The Data Governance and Quality team sets the framework for delivering and monitoring quality day-to-day. You will lead the team that defines our governance framework and ensures data quality throughout the data and content value stream. Your team will analyze and assess delivery for improving the quality of Data & Content to our analysts and customers through robust frameworks and project execution. In addition, under your guidance, the team will embark on an effort to automate quality assessments under our governance framework using new technological capabilities and will produce regular reporting on quality metrics for senior management. The team sits within our Operating Office, part of the broader Data & Content team and works in close partnership with many teams throughout the Data organization and cross-divisionally with DTI and other divisions.
 
The Impact: You will play a key role in researching, implementing, and monitoring a Data Governance framework for the Ratings organization, in consultation with the Head of Governance and Quality. You will act as a key liaison with In-Business Controls, Compliance and DTI, ensuring we are adhering to enterprise and regulatory standards for governance and quality. You will lead a transformation around the newly combined Data Governance and Quality Management Team, launching a program integrating our governance framework with a robust program of automation regarding quality. Projects will span the entirety of the data and content value chain enhancing customer satisfaction and driving business results and growth through the timely and accurate delivery of fundamentals, ratings and reference data.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize areas for improvement and application of governance
  • Support the Head of Data Governance and Quality in preparing for their role leading RRGC and other committees for managing governance company-wide
  • Set standards for documentation for key documents (e.g. data inventory) produced by data and content management and data operations to ensure consistency
  • Help maintain document library for regulatory required procedure documents
  • Liaise with Technology and In-Business Control regarding governance and adherence to data policy/ standard operating procedures/regulatory guidelines regarding data
  • Prepare materials and be able to speak to importance of governance program in educating the organization regarding use and dissemination of data
  • Customize development of data governance policies and procedures for guiding various data management processes, including data security and privacy, data quality control and data dissemination activities
  • Monitor policies to ensure alignment with the Governance framework of protecting sensitive data
  • Develop support materials to determine data sharing strategy across organization
  • Create and maintain Data Governance framework, process documentation, and data governance policies
  • Support content domains in their efforts to create road maps toward desired state of data governance maturity
  • Identify and standardize the use and governance of information in support of the overall global business strategy
 
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of data governance, quality, or steward experience within financial services
  • Data technical skills a significant plus (e.g. data querying, data analysis)
  • Proven track record of execution, particularly in content-related domain
  • Strong communication & partnering skills
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Interest in understanding data governance embedded as part of technology build
  • Agile (scrum) experience a plus
  • Content product & distribution experience a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
