Job Description

Our client, one of the largest Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner for data services, is looking for top talent to join their elite team of technologists to build and contribute to large-scale, innovative projects. Our client wants candidates who are eager to learn and grow with them as they work to move their market monitoring applications to modern big data platforms in the cloud where up to 60 billion market events are being processed each day.

If you are a fast learner, have a sharp mathematical and technical mind and are interested in working for one of the biggest data users in the country in a fast-paced, open source environment, our client has an immediate need for a E-Discovery Specialist.
The Electronic Discovery Specialist (EDS) is responsible for handling the intake and processing of electronic data produced by outside parties, ensuring requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders are satisfied. The EDS educates our client’s examiners about eDiscovery best practices and procedures for the CPU group. The EDS will provide data-driven support to our client’s examiners for CPU-supported review platforms, routing users to the appropriate resources as needed. The EDS is responsible for communicating to technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing, about the nature of work CPU performs and the issues encountered. The EDS is expected to leverage the CPU team’s expertise by involving technical staff in discussions with our client’s examiners and outside parties related to technical issues.
- Analyze, process, and ingest both native and CSV/Concordance data into appropriate platforms
 - Troubleshoot and detail issues with data, providing solutions where applicable
- Communicate non-technical matter-related information to CPU team members to assist in the development of technical procedures and solutions as needed
- Regularly work with FINRA examiners to educate and inform them about eDiscovery best practices and CPU services that support these best practices
- Ensure relevant experts on matter-related and technical/data issues are involved in major decision-making
- Participate in the identification of automation opportunities
- Participate in regular meetings with CPU team members
- 5+ years of electronic discovery experience in a regulatory, law firm, or processing vendor environment
- Ability to think critically about the nature of data and the work performed on it during the eDiscovery life cycle
- Ability to process, load, and troubleshoot native data into eDiscovery platforms
- Ability to analyze and prepare CSV/structured data in non-standard formats for ingestion into eDiscovery platforms and/or relational databases with standardized structures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting end-users performing basic tasks (e.g. searching, tagging) in eDiscovery platforms (e.g. Concordance, Recommind/Axcelerate, Relativity, etc…)
- Ability to communicate technical information and analysis to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to interpret matter-related information to technical audiences such that end-user requirements are satisfied
- Ability to contribute proactively towards team-oriented goals
- Familiarity with Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)
- Experience handling data produced by a third party
- Familiarity with programming/scripting
- Experience with financial sector regulation (e.g. SEC, CFTC, etc…)
- Experience testing software (including development of test plans) and documenting results
- Experience working in a law firm or with attorneys directly
- Experience managing review workflow Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree required
