Job Description

ConsultNet is actively recruiting for a Financial Analyst with experience in financial and cost management which includes budget planning as part of our client's Long Range Planning (LRP) process, budget management, tracking costs against established budgets and authorized spend, and providing cost performance index updates, budget performance updates, and other detailed reports. The ideal candidate will also be a strong analyst with the ability to create and interpret financial reports.

Responsibilities:

Establish and review with stakeholders the financial management governance, expectations and requirements, and standardized processes, tools and templates by aligning with existing systems

Manage budget planning activities with stakeholders (i.e. LRP, yearly budgets, Project Authorization materials, presentations)

Execute budget management activities (e.g., monthly close activities, actuals/forecast/variance reporting, accrual submission, journal entries, and cost performance reporting)

Identify, manage, and escalate (if required), risks of overspending, offsets, opportunities for under spending/reallocating budgets

Complete Phase Authorization facilitation and tracking

Interact with Corporate Finance and OpCo Finance

Manage Contingency and Earned Management Value of risks

Support Internal Audits by providing necessary documentation and data

Maintain Financial Management and Performance down to the component level as reflected in the deliverables listed below

Review and/or update (as appropriate) templates and create reports for financial reporting

Review and/or update (as appropriate) financial tracking model and financial reporting templates and create reports for actuals, forecasts, variances, in service date, summary/detailed financial reporting

Develop and/or update (as appropriate) templates and create reports for contingency management and invoice tracking

Review and/or update (as appropriate) templates and create reports for cost performance

Collect Lessons Learned for future phases

Required Experience in the Following;

Monthly Close including: Submittal of Accruals, Journal Entries and Forecasts

Variance Analysis (Budget, Forecast and Authorization)

Financial Reporting for: Month, Year to Date, Full Year Estimate and Full Project

Cost Performance Analysis including Cost Performance Index relative to delivery

Actuals Tracking with Cost Component Trends

LRP Submittal including: LRP 1.0 (Q1/Q2) and LRP 2.0 (Q3/Q4)

Forecast and Actuals (includes Accrual Accounting)

Variance Explanations

In Service Date Reporting

Contingency Management (tied to Risk Register)

Summary Financial Reporting Weekly and Monthly

Detailed Financial Reporting Weekly and Monthly
