Title: IT Technician
Location: Warminster, PA
Duration: Contract to hire
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an IT Technician to join their team. You will be responsible for installing and maintaining computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. You will assist users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure. A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (docking stations, keyboards, mice, printers, etc.)
- Install and configure appropriate business software and functions according to specifications.
- Assist in maintaining local network stability and performance.
- Assist to maintain the security of the company network and its data.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- Communicate, organize, and schedule upgrades and maintenance of computers, servers, and software at reasonable times that do not interrupt business operations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, applications, etc.)
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
- Identify and communicate IT Department related inventory information, such as computers, computer accessories, and licensing.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- Experience with ERP systems (i.e., Syspro) and SQL
Bonus/Soft Skills:
- Experience with ConnectWise Manage and Automate
- Experience with VMWare
- Experience with Application configuration and troubleshooting
