Principal Kubernetes/Terraform DevOps Engineer (Kafka)- Remote

Anywhere, USA

6 month contract to hire

Pay Range: $65.00 - $85.00per hr / Salary Target: $150K - $170K

Job Description:

Our SaaS client is scaling their Engineering team rapidly and looking to expand their DevOps capabilities by hiring to Sr. DevOps Engineer with expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform. This position is not about maintenance as much as it is about being a strategic thinker that is an expert in forward thinking around modern DevOps solutions. Some of the key areas you'll want to be an expert in is Kubernetes/Terraform/Azure/SQL Server/C#/.NET/Scripting (Powershell).

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years experience working in a DevOps role, with specific expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform
  • Very strong event driven architecture(EDA) 
  • Kafka experience 
  • Very strong Micro- services experience 
  • Azure/SQL Server/C#/.NET/Scripting (Powershell) expertise
  • Hands-on expertise in infrastructure engineering and/or software engineering
  • Excellent Powershell scripting skills/fundamentals
  • Expertise with Azure Cloud architectures
  • Cloud Formation, Salt, Puppet and/or Ansible experience
  • In-depth knowledge of build/release systems, CI/CD systems (Buildkite, Codefresh, CircleCI)
  • Leadership experience - technical or managerial
Bonus/Soft Skills:
  • Linux System administration experience
  • Networking experience
  • Willingness to take responsibility, accountability and ownership
