Job Description:

Quality Inspector III is a skilled position performing first piece, in-process, receiving, final, and tool/fixture inspections. This level of inspection requires the use of intermediate/advanced inspection equipment such as: CMM, Faro arm/tracker, and optical comparator. The Quality Inspector III must be familiar with inspection sampling plans, priority dispatch scheduling, First Article Inspection reporting, Verisurf, and Epicor navigation. This position performs the job function with minimal supervision from either a Master Inspector or the Quality Inspection Supervisor.

Duties

• Ability to perform part inspection on more complex designs.
• While having attained the ability for mechanical inspection at the I or II position, a Quality Inspector III must be able to operate Faro equipment and have basic CMM programming/operating capability. Comprehension and application of Verisurf software is necessary to be proficient in the Inspector III role.
• Intermediate to advanced level of GD&T comprehension.
• Possesses the ability to train Level I and II inspectors in the fundamentals of part inspection, AS9102 generation, GD&T, and blueprint reading.
• Accurately complete required time entries applicable inspection entries on Routers, inspection reports and other documentation as required.
• Document and report nonconforming equipment, raw material, processes, and product. Ensure proper identification and segregation of nonconforming items.
• Support other quality activities and quality personnel as required. Ability to represent the Quality Inspection function during line walks and audits.

Required Skills

• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate of completion in a GD&T/Blueprint reading program or ability to demonstrate comprehension of these in a practical examination
• 3-5 years of prior experience in Quality Inspector I/II roles
• Proficiency and experience in operating Faro and/or CMM equipment
• Ability to speak, read and write English, including understanding of verbal/written instructions
• Ability to perform intermediate shop math
• Computer skills required (Windows, Microsoft Office, Verisurf, Epicor, etc.)
• Ability to lift 35 lbs.

• Undergraduate or technical/skilled trades class credit is preferred
• Experience in a machining, sheet metal/fabrication, or composite manufacturing environment is preferred
