Duration: Contract-to-direct hire, long-term
Pay range: $30-$40/hr DOE
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate and direct repair, fabrication, assembly, and machining operations to achieve planned departmental goals relating to customer service, safety, quality, and productivity
Manage and supervise direct reports in performing their job duties in a safe and efficient manner, establishing a culture of safety,operational, and customer service excellence within the organization
Promote and maintain a safe work environment through daily observations of all shop areas to ensure safe work habits are followed and good housekeeping is maintained
Inspect machines and equipment, assuring that they are properly maintained for efficient operation
Motivate the Pump Repair Shop team by using situational leadership techniques, providing required training, and supplying the necessary tools and equipment to perform job tasks
Coach, mentor, train, and develop employees as required for the long-term sustainability of the business and to ensure appropriate succession planning, establishing or sourcing appropriate training as needed to ensure the quality of the work being performed
Provide input and interface with Sales Representatives and customers to ensure that pumps are serviced or repaired in a cost-effective manner to meet schedules
Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED, plus 5 years' experience performing service, maintenance, and repairs on large rotating equipment, such as pumps, blowers, and vacuums
Associates degree preferred
Occasional overnight travel may be required
Effective communication skills - verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team of service technician employees
Proficient in computer software applications – Microsoft Office 365 – Word and Excel
Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and balance workload with short turnaround time
Demonstrated initiative to improve work processes for speed, productivity, and simplicity – focused on 5S program
Experience Preferred:
Industrial Pumps - dynamic pumps and positive displacement experience preferred
Ability to use micrometers and other measuring instruments is preferred
Overhead crane, lift truck, machining or welding experience is a plus
Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or service operation
