Our client a Female owned and operated, beauty industry leader in hair color and formula development is seeking a Sr. Sales Analyst. The primary responsibility of the Sr. Sales Analyst is to use data and thorough analysis to answer the hard, open-ended questions required to operate, develop, and grow business. Impactful analysis and research are more than compiling statistics; it requires expertise to interpret findings and translate analyses into actionable business recommendations. The Sr. Sales Analyst will assist in developing and preparing Sales Presentations, utilizing fact-based data from multiple sources, and present ideas internally and externally as needed. The Sr. Sales Analyst will help the team through a detailed analysis of customer, consumer, and market data to improve sales, marketing, supply chain, product development, and operations effectiveness.



Required Skills:


Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual reporting, including but not limited to, Dashboard reports, costing reports, store listing, etc.


Provide actionable insights that support data-driven results for the sales team


Work with various data tools including running and analyzing 1010 Data, RSI, and IRI Work with retailer portals such as Retail Link


Develop, integrate, and provide account or brand-specific forecasts for internal sales and operations planning. This includes replenishment data, point-of-sale data, sales promotion information, marketing plans, manufacturing capacity, and new distribution/product deletions.


Align sales/marketing intelligence for each operating unit for use in forecast systems, working with sales organization(s), national sales accounts, marketing, research and development, and related forecasting and planning groups


Maximize account sales and inventory turns by forecasting consumer demand and developing optimal product assortments and replenishment inventory strategies.


Liaison with IT and other business analytics functions as needed


Keep abreast of external market factors, trends, and research that may impact business decisions as needed


Align with other teams (marketing, product, finance, customer service) to establish and maintain cross-company processes.


Evaluate new and existing sales tools for effectiveness and improvements.


Provide analysis and interpretation of internal/external market data, highlighting any underlying trends, to identify new market opportunities and recommend strategies to increase the organization's profitability.


Responsible for supporting the development of customer specific presentation of relevant consumer insights, competitive responses, and new item/category selling strategies.


Report on and analyze planned versus volume variances by using trade event analysis reporting. Conduct post-event analysis


Lead the analytical efforts for the team


Use syndicated data (i.e., IRI) and appropriate tools to identify trends in market share and distribution to drive the business


Deliver ad hoc analysis and support the development of executive-level presentation materials.


Communicate with sales reps on a regular basis for various sales data request


Evaluate competitive data and industry trends with qualitative factual data as well as industry insights.


Provide detailed information and analysis of events, marketing campaigns and sales promotions as they relate to retail sales


Account attendance and presentation of data and sales performance may be a future requirement


Create and coordinate end user surveys with research partners


Work with cross functional teams to help develop best practices for data and analytics




Bonus/Soft Skills:


4-year college education


A highly analytical, intellectual curiosity with proven track record in quantitative and qualitative analysis


Proficiency with analytical tools, statistical packages, and basic data access


Ability to work effectively with business, sales, supply chain, operations, product development, and marketing partners to gather and meet the data needs of the business


Ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner with sales, marketing, product development, and leadership teams to influence the overall strategy of the product


Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail


Progressive career in sales


Manufacturing a plus but not mandatory


Bilingual a plus but not mandatory


Advanced or Expert level Excel skills


Syndicated data experience


2-5 years of experience with: SQL, Tableu, Power BI, Office 365, Retail Link
