Job Description:

Our client is looking for an AWS Architect contractor with a strong focus on Content Delivery Network (CDN) solutions, particularly AWS CloudFront. Deep expertise in AWS CloudFront, AWS Global Accelerator, Route 53, Lambda@Edge, and other AWS services to optimize content delivery for web applications, media streaming, and digital assets. This role requires strong architectural skills to design, implement, and optimize scalable, high-performance, and secure content distribution solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

• CDN Architecture & Implementation: Design and deploy AWS CloudFront-based CDN solutions for optimized content delivery across web applications, media streaming, and digital assets.
• Integration & Automation: Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate CloudFront into existing infrastructure, automating deployments using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance CloudFront performance through caching strategies, compression, and edge computing (Lambda@Edge, CloudFront Functions).
• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, including SSL/TLS, DDoS protection (WAF, Shield), IAM policies, and secure content access (signed URLs/cookies).
• Cost Management: Optimize CloudFront costs by leveraging AWS pricing models, monitoring usage, and recommending cost-effective strategies.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Set up proactive monitoring (CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray) and resolve CloudFront-related issues efficiently.
• Documentation & Training: Maintain detailed documentation and provide training on CloudFront best practices and AWS services.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on CloudFront advancements and recommend new technologies to enhance content delivery and edge computing solutions.

• 5+ years in cloud architecture, specializing in AWS and CDN solutions.
• CDN Expertise: Proven track record with AWS CloudFront or other CDN providers (Akamai, Fastly, Cloudflare).

• Networking & Protocols: Strong understanding of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, and web performance optimization.
• Deep knowledge of AWS CloudFront (cache optimization, signed URLs, origin management).
• Expertise in AWS services (Route 53, Global Accelerator, S3, WAF, Lambda@Edge).
• Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
• Experience with multi-region/multi-cloud CDN strategies and video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH).

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certification.
• Experience with multi-CDN architectures and edge computing solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration abilities paired with excellent documentation capabilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
