Project Control Manager
Overview: The Project Controls Manager will oversee Business Services and Project Controls support for transmission and substation construction projects. This role involves managing cost controls, analyzing financials, developing and monitoring project schedules, identifying project impacts, implementing earned value management, and supervising project controls analysts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on Project Controls for large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
- Establish, interpret, and enforce policies and standards related to cost and schedule controls, as well as analytical activities.
- Lead cost engineering functions, including forecasting, cost control, change management, and financial analysis.
- Supervise planning and scheduling activities, ensuring proper schedule development, control, analysis, and continuous improvement recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams, including Engineering, Construction, Procurement, IT, Finance, Legal, Contracts, and other departments, to ensure alignment with project execution strategies.
- Prepare and deliver status reports and project analyses to both company and client management teams.
- Identify issues and collaborate with the project team to address them, ensuring coordination across departments and offices to meet project goals.
- Prepare and manage project control plans, financial summaries, and related reports for project management teams.
- Act as a liaison with business unit management to ensure proper workload coordination, staffing, and adherence to processes and procedures.
- Evaluate project progress at each stage, ensuring financial activities are aligned with project goals and client/contractual obligations are met.
- Support staffing planning for assigned projects and assist with resource requirements.
- Prepare and present project control updates to internal management and clients as required.
- Contribute to the development and training of assigned personnel, while implementing training programs.

- Strong leadership abilities, capable of motivating teams and interacting with clients.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- In-depth understanding of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction, particularly in utility and industrial sectors.
- Experience working independently on complex project control issues.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight timelines to achieve project objectives.
- Extensive experience in project controls, commercial operations, and prime contract management with a focus on financial and control aspects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project control systems, including scheduling software (e.g., Primavera), databases, and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel).
- Exceptional written, oral, and graphic communication skills for presenting management reports.
- Strong grasp of finance and accounting principles.
- Proficient in various mathematical disciplines, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.
- Excellent public speaking skills for engaging with customers, staff, and senior management.
- Responsible for weekly/monthly expense reports and budget forecasting for project-related travel and training.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 10 years of experience in Project Controls.
- Familiarity with project control systems and processes, including scheduling software, databases, and spreadsheets.
