Payroll Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Analyst to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess basic payroll knowledge and demonstrate the ability to handle day-to-day payroll tasks with efficiency and accuracy. This role involves processing manual checks, sorting and managing payroll-related documentation, and supporting the team with payroll tax and new hire activities.

• Payroll Processing:
  • Print, prepare, and distribute manual checks daily, including handling envelopes and FedEx shipments.
  • Research and resolve issues related to returned paychecks, such as locating and verifying employee addresses.
• Documentation and Organization:
  • Sort and route payroll-related mail, including tax statements, unemployment forms, and garnishments.
  • Assist with the auditing and setup of tax information for new hires.
• Systems and Tools:
  • Utilize internal systems (Atlas and 360) for payroll-related tasks.
  • Work within ADP to manage payroll processing and tax setup.
• Payroll Tax Support:
  • Assist with payroll tax-related activities, including auditing, setup, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the tax team to ensure accuracy and timely submission of payroll taxes.
• New Hire Support:
  • Audit and verify new hire information to ensure proper tax setup and payroll alignment.

• Basic understanding of payroll processes and systems.
• Experience with payroll tax procedures and compliance (preferred).
• Familiarity with payroll software such as ADP (experience with Atlas and 360 is a plus).
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills for addressing payroll-related inquiries.

• Previous experience in payroll tax support or related roles.
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax regulations.
