Mechanical Engineering Consultant

$120,000-$140,000

We are seeking a skilled MEP Engineer to design, implement, and oversee plumbing systems for sanitary waste, stormwater, domestic water, and natural gas distribution. Working with property owners, developers, architects, and construction teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient system designs.

• Develop conceptual designs, layouts, and engineering studies for plumbing systems.
• Prepare schematic designs, design development plans, and construction documents with minimal supervision.
• Create detailed drawings and specifications while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
• Conduct on-site surveys to assess existing conditions and inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate plumbing systems with mechanical and electrical components.
• Coordinate engineering documentation with relevant disciplines and assist in specification development.
• Design and size plumbing systems, including:
  • Sanitary waste/vent and special waste/vent systems (e.g., pH neutralization).
  • Domestic water distribution, heating, and recirculation systems.
  • Stormwater drainage and natural gas distribution.
  • Plumbing fixture and equipment selection.
• Stay current with evolving building codes, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
• Work within various project delivery models, including design-bid-build, design-assist, and design-build.
• Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and project execution.

Qualifications for Mechanical Consultant:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing system design, assessment, and/or construction.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, gas, and building codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.
• Fire protection design experience is a plus.
• Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
