Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Security and DevOps Consultant to join their team in a consulting role (about 10 hours/week).
The position requires hands-on expertise in configuring and setting up systems within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The consultant will also be responsible for documenting security policies and training their team on best practices for both security and GCP usage. This role is key to building a strong security framework and preparing their team and infrastructure for long-term success.
Responsibilities:
Security Engineering:
- Assess and enhance current security measures within our GCP environment.
- Configure security protocols and make strategic recommendations.
- Develop and document security policies and procedures.
- Provide training to team members on security best practices.
- Implement infrastructure as code
- Streamline CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment processes.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Implement and optimize permissions and rights policies for users.
- Work independently to drive projects forward.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to unblock challenges.
- Provide strategic recommendations for future infrastructure improvements.
- Minimum of 5 years in security engineering and DevOps roles.
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Background in the payments industry is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools.
- Excellent documentation and policy development skills.
- Strong communication skills for training and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and proactively address issues.
