Sr Mechanical Engineer

Title: Sr Mechanical Engineer

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Duration: Contract-to-direct

Pay range: $45-55/hr DOE

Job Responsibilities:

Work with other mechanical engineers, designers and drafters to complete simple to complex oil & gas process projects.

Participate in site visits, walk-downs and stress analysis on industrial plant projects.

Experience with and knowledge of equipment utilized or experience with mineral/metal processing and equipment utilized Very Helpful

Experience with manufacturing very important

Experience with chemical processing a plus

MSHA Certificate a plus

Must be able to perform calculations using pipe stress analysis software at an expert level.

Create and modify specifications for process equipment including pumps, valves, column, catalytic crackers, flare stacks, reformers and piping , but not just for refineries, but other industries as well

Must be good at technical evaluation of vendor proposals.

Must be able to review and correct vendor drawings.

Occasional travel to job sites, client offices, and vendors manufacturing facilities.

Mentor and Train team members and other staff members.

Job Requirements:

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering

Must have a minimum of 10 years+ years of experience with refinery processes and knowledge of equipment utilized in the processes for the oil & gas industry . This includes pumps, valves, flare stacks, reformers, crude columns, catalytic crackers, piping, etc.

Experience with hydrocarbon, oil & gas is required. Other industries also extremely important.

Caesar Pipe Stress software for FEA analysis is a plus.

Must have excellent engineering understanding of heat transfer; fluid flow; strength of materials; vibrations; and thermodynamics.

Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, heat transfer equipment or material handling equipment is a plus.

P.E. needed or ability to get PE licensure within 1 year a must.
