Job Description

The primary function of the Principal Engineer is to lead a team of developers and engineers while being responsible for setting the overall eCommerce technology strategy that will deliver exceptional value to our customers and contribute to the overall success of the company. This role is accountable for ensuring the enhancement and optimization of our clients affiliated websites. They will work closely with product Managers and UX/UI designers to define project and deliverables

Required Skills

• 8 years experience as an Engineer in e-commerce and Digital commerce platforms
• 4 years as a Principal Engineer (Java and Spring)
• Experience with CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) and an understanding of the benefits CDNs play on origin load, cache, stability, web application security and Bot Management
• Extensive experience with React and defensive programming methodologies
• Must have Windows, Linux, and MacOS with Shell experience
• Tomcat and Docker Kubernetes experience
• Proficiency in git, project management using JIRA or equivalent, and CI/CD tool equivalent of Jenkins.
• HTML/HTML5, JavaScript/jQuery, and CSS. (LESS)/Bootstrap/TailwindCSS
• Understanding of usability, accessibility, and privacy compliance.
• Knowledge of accessibility, performance, and other software/website quality auditing tools.
• Ability to QA own work output across multiple browsers/devices and read other teams' code, suggesting practical changes.
• Ability to pair program/pair troubleshoot with team members across teams/tech stack to resolve implementation requirements and handle emergencies productively.
• Desire to create great, performant software that serves customers world-class eCommerce experiences, with a consistent desire for self and team improvement.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.

• Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Engineering)
