Job Description:

We're looking for a marketing copywriter to collaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Marketing team partners to create fresh, compelling copy across a wide variety of projects, with a special focus on website copy, conversion, testing & optimization, onboarding, and more. As our new copywriter, you'll take responsibility for the quality of all writing assigned, ensuring that it stays on brand, follows voice standards, and performs to achieve the metrics required by the project, all following best practices and achieving creative excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with key team members to develop the tone and communication strategy for instruction and conversion dialog with our customers
• Identify inconsistencies and help improve current web copy and processes
• Update a family of websites with copy that shines, including new product descriptions, improvements to current functionality, offers, new user flows, and instructions for interacting with product features
• Work closely with a team of product and marketing experts to translate marketing, testing, and conversion strategies into sophisticated, leading-edge creative solutions
• Gain a deep understanding of the motivations and behaviors of target audiences to increase the relevance and effectiveness of your ideas
• Expertly present and diplomatically defend your work and area of expertise, while maintaining and building positive relationships with internal and external partners
• Thrive in a deadline-driven environment with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of recent hands-on professional copywriting experience, preferably in Marketing, advertising, media, etc.
• Marketing-facing copywriters
• Figma experience
• Marketing onsite experience
• Wide range of media capabilities - print, online, web marketing, etc.
• Experience with translating new features to customers through written communication
• A solid portfolio providing a variety of work
• Shorter form headlines, and landing pages are what's needed. This role isn't for a long-form or blog post, or deep-dive copywriters.

Bonus/Soft Skills:

• Genealogy experience
• Onsite CRM, campaign, and promotional work is a bonus
• Workfront (proofing) experience
• Strong interpersonal communication, organization, and time-management skills
• The flexibility to adjust to changing priorities
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, or equivalent experience
