Civil Engineer
Job Title: Civil Engineer
Location: Sandy, UT, Layton, UT, Richfield, UT or Tooele, UT
Duration: Contract-to-Direct, long-term
Pay rate: $27 - $45/hr DOE
Responsibilities:
The successful Civil Engineer will be working on projects and consulting on land development specifications for commercial and residential, roadways and subdivisions sites.
Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right of way requirements and cost.
Produce detailed, final design plans, specifications and estimates in accordance with AASHTO , FHWA, state DOT and/or Municipal Departments of Public Works and Water & Wastewater Utility.
Work with AutoCAD Civil 3D pipe networks for existing and proposed design conditions.
Prepare grading of sites and roadways utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D feature lines, corridors and surfaces.
Produce design drawings for projects including Demolition Plans, Site Plans, Grading Plans, Drainage Plan, Utility Plans, Erosion Control Plans and Plan and Profile drawings.
Prepare drainage calculations and reports using spreadsheets, modeling software and word processing programs.
Research City Codes and ordinances to make sure drawings are in compliance with municipality's design and submittal requirements.
Required Skills:
BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering, EIT or FE required. PE is a plus.
AutoCAD Civil 3D software
5+ years of experience with Land, Road and Subdivision Development
Experience with hydrology, hydraulics, and water system design is a plus
Quality assurance and customer service skills
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team
Good interpersonal skills, ability to adapt in a deadline driven environment
