Structural BIM Designer

Job Title: Entry-Level Structural BIM Designer

Location: Sandy, UT (Monday – Friday Onsite)

Duration: Contract to Direct Hire

Pay Range: $23.00-28.00 Hour W2 DOE

Summary of Position

Provide drafting and modeling support for our structural engineering department in our Sandy office. This position will require using Autodesk software, specifically Revit. Some experience using Autodesk Software is preferred, but not required.

Essential Functions

• Ability to work under direct supervision while performing routine, non routine, and complex assignments.
• Develop 3D structural Revit models from architectural Revit models, AutoCAD files, or PDF files.
• With direction from Design Engineers and Project Managers, assemble preliminary structural plans and structural details required for project delivery.
• Review changes in architectural design with Design Engineers and Project Managers and develop plan to update the structural Revit model.
• Work as a team with the Design Engineers and Project Managers to update structural model and drawings as the design progresses.
• Review all work for quality and completeness.
• Ensure all work is completed using Ensign's drafting standards.
• Complete all work in accordance with project deadlines.

Educational/Skill/Specialization Requirements

• 0-1 years of Revit experience.
• Basic understanding of building and construction concepts for multiple construction types.
• Familiarity with standard drafting practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, & graphical) with the design team.
• Coordinate structural model with architectural model and plans.
• Function as a team member in completing the BIM design work.
• Maintain correct file folder structure and naming conventions.
• Demonstrate a reliable and responsive work ethic.
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Ability to manage demands for multiple projects at a time.
• Stay up to date with new release technology.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
