Senior Benefits Administrator

About the Role:
Our company seeks a dedicated Senior Benefits Administrator to manage and enhance our benefits programs and provide crucial support to our team. With a minimum of 3 years in benefits administration, the ideal candidate will bring strong experience in health and welfare benefits, compliance expertise, and a proactive approach to employee support. This position will play a vital role in daily operations and process improvement to streamline benefits functions across our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Benefits Program Administration : Develop, implement, and administer a variety of benefit programs, including medical, vision, dental, life, LTD/STD, and retirement accounts (401k or 403b). Act as a liaison with brokers and vendors, facilitating plan design, issue resolution, and benefit program management.
- Employee Support & Education : Lead benefits education, guiding associates through enrollment and onboarding sessions. Address associate inquiries with clear and concise communication, ensuring they have a strong understanding of their benefits options.
- Compliance & Regulatory Oversight : Ensure adherence to ERISA, COBRA, and ACA regulations, managing ACA compliance, 1095-C filing, and related audits. Conduct routine audits and collaborate on non-discrimination testing to maintain compliance.
- Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis : Investigate and resolve complex benefits-related issues. Utilize root cause analysis to identify recurring issues, implement solutions, and improve benefits processes.
- Process Improvement : Spearhead initiatives to improve workflows and benefits processes, making operations more efficient and employee-focused. Review, approve, and process benefits invoices, ensuring timely and accurate premium payments.
- Leave of Absence (LOA) Administration : Manage FMLA and other leave programs, ensuring federal and company policy compliance. Experience with ADA and disability claims is a plus.
- Open Enrollment Management : Organize and lead annual open enrollment events, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure smooth implementation across all locations.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration, with hands-on experience across health and welfare programs.
- Proficiency in benefits software systems such as Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, UKG, iCIMS, or Taleo.
- Deep understanding of federal compliance regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and FMLA.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, particularly with issue resolution and compliance monitoring.
- Proven track record in process improvement, with the ability to optimize workflows for increased efficiency.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
