Job Description

Title:  Data Architect
Location:  New York, NY (midtown)
Duration: 6 months Contract to Hire

This position is responsible for leading and oversight in the development of information architecture and logical data design, developing, implementing, and supporting logical data models.  This position will act as the primary advocate of information architecture and data modeling methodologies and data processing best practices with in-depth understanding of enterprise data standards, data quality and how data is used as a strategic asset. 
Principal Accountabilities / Duties / Responsibilities :     % Accountabilities A. 35% Work with business and technology to development and maintain the organization's end-to-end information architecture by creating strategies and developing the associated roadmaps and high level plans. B. 15% Design, develop, and coordinate enterprise metadata and taxonomy strategy including repository implementation, planning and maintenance
  C. 10%  Develop the standards, processes and procedures to align with the information architecture for the organization
  D. 10% Review the information and technology architecture design for projects to ensure alignment with the organization's standards and target architecture/roadmap
  E. 10% Support various project teams in data analysis, logical and physical data models and provide guidance and mentoring to technical team
  F. 10% Identify opportunities to generate revenue or improve business performance through the use of internal or external information content. G. 10% Monitor regulatory guidelines, compliance guidelines and emerging industry standards to determine their impact on information architecture H.     Other Required Accountabilities A. Advises on available standards, methods, tools and applications in own area of specialization and can make correct choices
  B. Aligns data/architect design with the business need, articulates trade-offs and options C. Leads discussions around data analysis, data modeling and information architecture while providing guidance to BA, QA and IT staff in related area

    B. Multiple implementation locations (up to 4+ globally)   c.  Leads cross-departmental teams of 10+ people both on-shore and off-shore   D. Provide architecture leadership for a project duration of 12+ months       Essential Skills : A. BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or related study B. Minimum of 10 – 15  years of experience with data architecture and data modeling
  C. Experience in facilitating and developing logical data design from business requirements D. Proficiency in Agile development methodology and expertise in application design E. Good understanding and experience with Service Oriented Architectures, XML, ETL, and SQL F Understands how to create scalable and highly available applications at all layers of the architecture G Has implemented data security, data management and repository management practices
  H Superior organizational, analytical/critical thinking skills from a data/architecture perspective
  I Superior communication and collaboration skills with business and technical staff
