What This Position Is All About:
The Director, Project Management Office - Retail Operations, leads the development and delivery of initiatives that improve profitability for my client. This role develops and implements effective project and program management tools and best practices to support all the business units and leads the definition of targeted initiatives every year that may include optimization of processes, or introduction of new tools for the associates and management with the goal of reducing SG&A or improving gross profit margin while improving or sustaining our customer experience. The role will have a goal of improvements to EBITDA to deliver annually through a variety of projects and will work with leadership at all levels and business units as well as consultants to achieve that goal. The role will focus on improving store operations and effectiveness and may have over time direct reports to manage specific projects.

You Also Have:

  • Minimum of 10 years experiences in project management or comparable function
  • Experience in management consulting is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or Post-secondary education
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: retail/store operations, manufacturing, production preferred
  • PMI Certification preferred
  • Strong Knowledge of Excel, MS Word and able to develop PowerPoint presentations

 
As The Director, PMO - Retail Operations, You Will:

  • Be involved in Project Management:

    • Support PMO team leaders and the Executive team in developing PMO stores initiatives to support the evolution of the business and drive results
    • Act as a thought partner for business unit teams; identify PMO opportunities, help to shape strategic plans, and drive the PMO planning process and projects
    • Partner with finance and business units to define cost and benefit for projects
    • Maintain pipeline of future project opportunities
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of projects and achievement of the dollar benefits
    • Own project delivery from beginning to end; Develop and manage comprehensive project plan and project timeline including tasks, and owners
    • Collaborate with cross-functional and external partners to provide relevant and actionable project insights to the business units and ensure completion of project tasks
    • Incorporate feedback from leadership and modify process from team members and cumulative experience on projects
    • Keep moving the projects forward, identify obstacles and risks early on, and find solutions
    • Define key linkages or dependencies that are needed to complete the project. Manage those dependencies
    • Escalate issues timely and find ways solve in alignment with stakeholders
    • Provide regular progress status report to stakeholders, which will involve creating meeting cadence and responsible for scheduling and facilitating weekly meetings
    • Capture follow-ups after key meetings and distribute; Maintain log of follow-ups and ensure closure and clear owners and accountability
    • Support with ad hoc activities as required

  • Be involved in Change Management:

    • For projects assigned, determine change plan including an employee readiness plan, communication plan and sustainability plan of tools and processes that are part of the project
    • Ensure project benefits and costs are being captured into yearly budgets and plans
    • Determine ongoing reporting or mechanisms to continue to sustain the benefits that were intended by the project
    • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships to support key PMO initiatives as needed
