Our client, one of the largest Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner for data services, is looking for a FinancialAnalyst to join their elite team of technologists to build and contribute to large-scale, innovative projects. Our client wants candidates who are eager to learn and grow with them as they work to move their market monitoring applications to modern big data platforms in the cloud where up to 60 billion market events are being processed each day.

If you are a fast learner, have a sharp mathematical and technical mind and are interested in working for one of the biggest data users in the country in a fast-paced, open source environment, our client has an immediate need for a Financial Analyst.

Summary: The main function of Financial Analyst position is to work as part of a Platform product team and perform business analyses for assigned product(s) in order to ensure that the platform meets the needs of the business communities it will serve. Be able to represent the business user to the delivery team and anticipate the needs of the end user. Envision and harmonize feature requirements to ensure that platform optimally meets needs of the disparate business organizations and processes it supports. Help drive platform transformation to integrate functionality that more effectively facilitates core business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of Equities Markets
  • Work closely with business users to help determine requirements of surveillance patterns
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts and understand complex trading behavior
  • Perform the analysis, design, implementation, modification, and daily functional support
  • Determine the requirements for features and/or enhancements using techniques such as user interviews, group feedback sessions, and direct observation
  • Spend time with end-users to gain an appreciation of the work they perform and how they use your product
  • Drive continual product improvements based on ongoing customer research and usability studies
  • Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field such as computer science, engineering, Finance, Accounting or related field required (Master's Degree Preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of Equities Markets
  • At least 5 years of experience working for Financial Institions as a proprietary trader, market maker, equities analyst, research analyst and/or
  • Product minded individual
  • Able to generate creative, simple solutions to complex problems
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and Databases in order to comprehend running queries
  • Learn new processes quickly
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Ability to quickly solve problems and understand complex details
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions
  • Strong written and oral communication skills


Other Skills/Interests:

  • Financial Industry experience.
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience working with AWS
  • Deep knowledge of Databases/Advanced SQL Skills
