Job Summary:
The Temple portfolio of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a skilled and motivated professional to work as a software engineer developing web applications for temples and priesthood leaders worldwide. The contract position is expected to last up to one year but could be renewed for a second year.
This is an expert, professional-level position that requires vast knowledge of industry practices, organizational policies and good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for designing, defining, developing, testing, implementing, and analyzing of technical products and systems of diverse scope.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel. All candidates must be members of this religion in good standing to be considered for these positions.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field Master's degree preferred
• 3 - 8+ years of industry-recognized, progressive and relevant professional experience developing Java/J2EE web applications
• 3+ years of specialized experience in the technologies and methodologies of the product platform processes
• Proficiency in Java and related frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring, Spring MVC, Maven
• Extensive Experience architecting and implementing RESTful web service solutions
• Significant experience with Java and Spring Framework
• Experience with relational databases – Oracle, SQL
• Knowledge and experience with front-end frameworks – AngularJS a plus
• Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML and JSON

50% Develop source code and unit tests according to technical designs
15% As a member of a software engineering team, participating in team meetings, team planning sessions, setting team goals, and all other team activities
10% Estimating the time to develop and deliver features as defined by product management
10% Participating in peer reviews of project software design and coding
5% Work with technical lead in the establishment of architecture, standards, and best practices
5% Self-directed or classroom instructed in the areas of Church software development processes, industry best practices, and new technologies being adopted for the organization
5% Providing mentoring or pair programming with other less experienced engineers
