Job Description

Our client, one of the largest Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner for data services, is looking for a Lead SDET to join their elite team of technologists to build and contribute to large-scale, innovative projects. Our client wants candidates who are eager to learn and grow with them as they work to move their market monitoring applications to modern big data platforms in the cloud where up to 100 billion market events are being processed each day.

Our client builds and operates a suite of regulatory applications to streamline and unify the mortgage licensing process across all participating state and federal regulators. They are starting a project to migrate the suite of applications and databases into AWS. This job requisition is seeking an individual to lead the assurance engineering of this effort. 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Working independently, the lead SDET owns the quality of software products delivered within the software development life cycle (SDLC) and leads and mentors a team (4-6 approximately) of other SDETs
  • Responsibilities also include developing and executing software testing components, developing automation solutions and performing manual tests as needed throughout the SDLC
  • Responsible for identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Creates and executes complex test strategies across multiple systems, as required, to execute tests
  • Reviews and provides feedback on system architecture, code, and design documents.
  • Performs independent assurance on all SDLC phases in a project
  • Ownership of the automated test solution architecture (functional and non-functional)
  • Architects, designs and develops automation code, scripts, utilities, simulators, data generators, API/interface testing solutions and other programmatic test tools to test complex systems
  • Continually looks for ways to innovate and improve the testing process to gain efficiencies
  • Possesses domain expertise in the project involved and serves as a technical subject matter expert
  • Effectively communicates testing activities and findings in oral and written formats.
  • Ensures compliance with our client’s technology policies and standards
  • Ensures compliance with all security controls
  • U.S. Citizenship Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any other STEM degree and 7 years of software development and/or test automation or the equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Excellent understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, algorithm design, problem-solving, complexity analysis, and data structures
  • Expertise on modern programming languages and common development technologies with software architecture and design skills
  • Excellent understanding of the testing process, test types, test design, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience in data testing and validating data migration efforts
  • Demonstrated experience with functional, performance, security and DevOps test tooling
  • Expert experience in architecting, designing and developing automation frameworks and test suites
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud-related technologies
  • Must be self-directed, detail-oriented and have excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working on an agile/scrum application team
  • Experience with test automation technologies such as Selenium Web Driver, Protractor, Gatling, JMeter, Jasmine, Karma, REST Assured, and NUnit
  • Experience with DevOps tooling such as Ansible, Puppet, Maven, Jenkins, AWS code deploy, and AWS CloudFormation
  • Experience using Splunk and using security tooling such as Black Duck, CloudPassage, ZAP, AppScan, and Burp suite
  • Experience performing Threat modeling and penetration testing
  • Experience with n-tier applications
