6 Month Contract-to-Hire
Contract Rate: $16.00 per hour
 
Job Description:
This role is working within a team of about 8 Tier-1 technical support.  Mostly inbound calls.   Basic troubleshooting of networking, and network appliances such as routers, switches, firewalls.   This is a very friendly external customer interfacing role.  Assuming that the customer may be somewhat technically inclined, but not as technically savvy as you are.  So you'll have to engage the customer at their level, while still guiding them through some technical techniques.  May also remote into the customer equipment to assess their environment & situation.   You would also handle calls escalated from their customer care group.
 
They key to this role may be more about your natural ability / thinking process to troubleshoot, moreso than your technical expertise (they can teach you the latter).
 
Required Skills:

  • 1-3 years experience troubleshooting networking devices such as routers, switches, hubs.
  • Call Center experience, and experience with managing trouble ticket systems
  • Good basic networking protocols experience such as TCP/IP, DNS, IPConfig
  • Telecommunications experience
  • Some good basic experience with MS Office Suite
