Job Description

Title: Lithium Process Engineer
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Duration: Direct, long-term
Salary range: 90-120K DOE
Job Summary:
Works with customers and with sales, process and project engineers to develop metallurgically robust, cost effective solutions and equipment selections to meet customer needs. 
Risks and opportunities of projects are identified and recommendations made for equipment installations up to and including complete plants that will meet process requirements. 
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in the metallurgical efforts in the processing of lithium and other projects throughout the world
Meets with customers to discuss all process aspects of the flow sheet including test work, process design, equipment selection and sizing, process specifications, commissioning and plant optimization
Ability to troubleshoot existing operating plants and provide technical governance to maximize plant performance
Provides technical assistance and recommendations of equipment and process design to worldwide field operations
Provide technically sound metallurgical solutions to projects and demonstrate through high quality presentations. This will include producing a process technology package eg. PFD, mass balance, process design criteria etc.
Uses statistical data analysis where appropriate to clearly understand the impact of changing process variables and to optimize our advantage over our competition
Responsible for managing the cost of test projects to meet the overall department budget

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree Metallurgical, Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering
A minimum of 8 years process engineering experience in hydrometallurgical operations, preferably including lithium experience. International experience will be considered an asset
Previous plant operations background is desirable. EPCM contract experience is also preferred
Understanding laboratory testing and knowledge of standard laboratory procedures is required together with planning of test programs and laboratory interaction
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Desire to visit remote operations locations throughout the world
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with emphasis on technical communications and the ability to clearly convey abstract ideas
Strong technical reporting ability
Computer experience with proficiency in MS Office software and computer data acquisition and analysis (JKSimMet / METSIM etc.)
Experience in statistical data analysis is highly desired
Team player and self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently to accomplish project, department and company objectives
Ability to work across geographically diverse locations and ability to work in multinational cultural environment
Additional language skills would be advantageous (Spanish speaking, etc.)
Membership of professional minerals institutes preferred
PE license not required, but would be an asset
