Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Duration: Direct hire, permanent
Pay Rate: $90-120KYR DOE
 
Job responsibilities:
Ensures technical expertise in projects by providing expert judgement and analysis for the design, development, specification and implementation of products, equipment and systems to meet client needs.
Recommends improvements in development, design and engineering to the products, systems and/or procedures.
The position is expected to work on a few (up to 3 - 4) projects in parallel, depending on the status of the projects.
Works with minimal to no supervision with extensive collaboration between teams to keep project deliverables on time and meet project DIFOT expectations.
Ensure mechanical objectives of project are met through all stages of a project.  From basic to detail design. 
Ensure mechanical designs provide low cost sourcing, ease of installation, reduced manufacturing costs and meet regional needs.
Create technical specifications and get quotes for procurement of 3rd party supplied equipment.
Work with mechanical design team to produce fabrication and assembly drawings of precious metals equipment.
Responsible for execution of precious metals projects.  Work directly with end users and engineering firms.
Reviews and approves mechanical design drawings to determine information meets projects expectations. 
Coordinate with design teams to develop plant layout drawings, P&ID's, PFD's, material balance, piping layouts, structural layouts, electrical layout, etc.
Reviews customer specifications and verify final design meets expectations. 
 
Job requirements:
BS or equivalent 4-year Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline is essential.
5-10 years engineering project related experience.
Successful completion of PE Exam (or equivalent) is preferred
Proficient in analysis of piping/pumping systems, equipment sizing and specifications.
Good working knowledge of standard steel fabrication and equipment operation.
Proficient with engineering design tools (Solidworks, AutoCAD, FEA-ANSYS, etc)
Proficient in engineering fundamentals
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), GA's, Assembly, Detail Models and Drawings.
Proficient in change management and conflict resolution
