Principal C++ Software Engineer
Salt Lake City, UT
6 month contract to hire
Pay Range: $60.00 - $80.00per hr / Salary Target: $120K - $145K + Bonus

Job Description:

Our client is growing their team and looking for a true subject matter expert in C++, SIP, and RTP! Experience with C#, REST and Windows Server are definitely bonus skills that can set you apart from the other engineers! Additional experience with Agile, cloud-native software would be great!! Our client is looking for a passionate technologist that wants to join a small and entrepreneurial spirited team that is building sustainable solutions for complex problems! In this role we would expect you to do 70% hands-on engineering, and 30% mentoring!

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years as a leading Senior or Principal level software engineer or Architect
  • 7+ years of recent experience in producing software using C++
  • VOIP experience, including media streaming, SIP signaling, and RTP
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems
  • Experience with real time processing, including multi-threading and interrupts
  • Deep knowledge with IP networking; VOIP, SIP, RTP, and/or Wireshark

Bonus/Soft Skills:

  • Engineering for the cloud; AWS preferred
  • Familiarity with machine learning/artificial intelligence
  • Passion for quality software, including testability, automation, and test code coverage
  • RESTful service design, documentation, and implementation experience
  • Practiced understanding of microservices architecture
  • Experience developing and deploying applications in Docker containers and scaling them in production
