Senior Business Data Analyst

Burbank, CA (HYBRID)

Contract

$60-75/hr

Our client is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst who will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable business insights, driving strategic decisions, and enhancing business value. Collaborating with business and executive stakeholders, you will address business challenges by preparing and modeling data for in-depth analyses. Your work will facilitate the creation of predictive models and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with Business Teams: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their challenges, define analytical questions, and deliver data-driven insights through interactive reports and dashboards.
• Champion Analytics Processes: Advocate for and lead the analytics process from business understanding to data deployment. Guide business stakeholders of varying technical and non-technical backgrounds.
• Develop and Maintain Reporting Tools: Design, implement, and maintain trustee reporting, executive scorecards, and cross-functional tactical reports on the enterprise analytics platform.
• Promote Self-Service Analytics: Facilitate the adoption of self-service analytics for operational reporting across multiple departments, including Finance, Accounting, Participant Services, Eligibility, Claims, and Pension.
• Source External Data: Identify and integrate relevant external industry data for enhanced modeling and analysis.
• Continuous Skill Development: Stay abreast of industry trends and enhance the skills of team members through discussions, work assignments, training, and mentoring.
• Apply Agile Methodologies: Utilize Agile methodologies to ensure timely delivery of analytical projects.

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Advanced Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years in a data analytics role with a strong emphasis on data preparation, analysis, and presentation.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience working with databases, SQL, and at least one programming language (preferably Python). Knowledge of statistical and mathematical algorithms for model building.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies.
• Project Management: Proven track record in managing and delivering analytical projects, with working knowledge of Agile methodologies.

• Industry Experience: Prior experience in the Healthcare industry is a plus.
• Trust and Integrity: Demonstrates reliability and integrity, follows through on commitments, and maintains confidentiality.
• Data Blending and Wrangling: Strong ability to blend and manipulate data to create comprehensive data sets for analysis.
• Advanced Analytical Skills: Understanding statistical analysis and machine learning principles is advantageous.
