Software Developer Engineer 2
12-24 month contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to work as a software engineer developing web applications for temples and priesthood leaders worldwide. This is a contract position that is expected to last up to one year but could be renewed for a second year.
Our engineering teams work in an agile development environment with multi-disciplined teams to develop and deliver web applications which are used in temples throughout the world. These applications assist patrons, priesthood leaders, temple workers, and temple presidencies to conduct and participate in sacred temple ordinances. We need software engineers who are excited and passionate about leveraging innovative technologies and contributing their talents to the work of the Church in temples. This will be a unique opportunity to develop and maintain high quality multi-language web applications in temples and to apply your technical skills to a work which aligns to core gospel beliefs.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Qualifications:
A^•Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field or equivalent experience
A^•3+ years of progressive and relevant professional experience developing Java/J2EE web applications
A^•The candidate should be capable of clear and accurate written communications, with attention to details.
A^•Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
A^•Demonstrated experience showing self-direction and adaptation in an agile environment

Skills:
A^•Object-oriented development
A^•Java EE application development
A^•Spring
A^•Spring MVC
A^•HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and other front-end skills
A^•Hibernate
A^•Maven
A^•IDE's (IntelliJ, Eclipse, etc.)
A^•Relation database a^¿¿ Oracle, SQL a plus
A^•Front end frameworks (such as AngularJS) a plus

Responsibilities:
A^•Solve moderately-complex technical issues and complete programming tasks with limited supervision
A^•Participate in the analysis of functional requirements.
A^•Participate in the mapping of functional requirements to technical designs.
A^•Provide estimates for development tasks.
A^•Develop source code and unit tests according to technical designs.
A^•Participate in code reviews.
A^•Contribute to technical documentation.
A^•Participate in the Problem Management process and fix defects.
A^•Comply with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements and ensure all others are doing the same
