Title: Sr. Credit Risk Rating Manager
Location: NYC (Midtown)
Duration: 12 months with a probable extension

JOB DESCRIPTION:

System Support activities
  • Lead the risk rating platform upgrade as part of the Risk team and deliver the project within its timeline
  • Work closely and coordinate with the Project Managers, Business Analyst and IT teams as well as the business counterparts to successfully implement the project
  • Develop expertise in learning, understanding and owning the capabilities of the risk rating system and the Moody's eco-system of tools made available to subscribers
  • Lead system configurations and maintenance (e.g., set-up workflows, screens, adapt platform to future business needs)
  • Develop business processes around the platform and within the bank's applications ecosystem (requirements for integrations, risk rating control processes etc.)
  • Develop the bank's capabilities around building reports out of the risk rating tool (bank-wide or ad-hoc reports)
  • Design and drive Client's risk rating training program for users
  • Help users become self-sufficient overtime in using the system and its reporting capabilities Assist in rolling out new system releases, including testing, training, communication
  • Maintain the link between Company and Moody's teams/ Help Desk (such as assist users with problems, coordinate with Moody's the deployment of new models into the platform)
Modeling/ Credit activities
  • Facilitate and grow the relationship between the risk rating platform and the business evolving needs Become familiar with the credit risk models and their maintenance over-time; coordinate and/or participate in calibration and validation initiatives, identify opportunities to improve or change the models; drive, implement and validate changes into the platform;
  • Keep up to date on research papers and use cases for the bank's business focus and models Work with SMEs (such as Credit Risk Executives, Heads of Business, Chief Regional Credit Officers) to asses, test, validate proposed changes to risk models
  • Evaluate new system releases and the impact for credit portfolios
  • This is a cross-functional position which requires commendable skills around coordination, communication, influencing in order to bring folks together for the common goal and deliver outstanding results within the required timeframe. Individual should be:
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of employees including C-level executives
  • Follow through an entire project's life cycle, drive independent research and analysis, perform and document data quality checks and controls, ensure data integrity and output accuracy, and problem solve cross-functionally to address project issues.
  • Collaborate with the Technology department to drive business requirements, design new reports, enhance the capabilities of existing risk rating portfolio reports in order to improve the team's reporting platform and deliver excellent service to our stakeholders.
Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution with major in finance, business administration, accounting or other related degree.
  • 10- to 15-years relevant experience in financial and/or credit risk areas within a financial service, insurance, or regulatory organization working with credit risk, risk rating tools and models or equivalent work experience and showing increasingly responsibility levels.
  • Proactive, curious, self-starter who requires minimal supervision with the ability to work across multiple departments. Demonstrated drive to improve, learn, research, and resolve issues independently and/or with others on team.
  • Demonstrated data management, risk assessment, and analytical skills to identify opportunities and risks and make recommendations.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and completion of successful projects.
  • Strong attention to detail is paramount.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and present complex topics and analysis in a clear and concise manner to all levels of management (written and verbal).
Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with writing SQL queries and/ or SQL type of script.
  • Previous experience with Moody's risk rating platforms strongly preferred.
  • Experience using Python script, VBA is a plus. Knowledge of or ability to use bank software and systems.
