Job Description

User Researcher & Tester

Anaheim, CA

10-12 month Contract to possible hire

Up to $67.50 an hour

Successful candidate will lead and be responsible for planning, conducting and reporting on studies for user needs & product usability for new & existing products within a wide and interesting range of user, technology & business domains. As part of a small core team your impact will be felt on global software and physical products and services that require a range of research contexts & methods.

Requirements

• 4+ years of user research & testing work experience

• Demonstrated expertise with preparation for and execution of interviewing, concept testing, usability testing, ethnographic research, heuristic evaluations, surveys, personas, journey maps, user flows, story boards, remote testing and bench marks.

• Knowledgeable & application of various UX & usability heuristics & design principles Outstanding interpersonal & communication skills

• Proficient with MS Office, especially PowerPoint

• Experience with user testing tools (e.g. Morae, userzoom.com, etc.), online testing tools (e.g. MixPanel, LookBack, etc.), and usage analytic tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Matomo, Qualtrics) Experience with survey tools (e.g. typeform.com, Surveymonkey.com, etc.)

• Ability to setup & record audio & video & screens during research & testing sessions

• Some graphic design (Photoshop) skills desirable

• Some moderate mockup/prototype skills desirable

• Must be an exceptional listener with the ability to understand root problems/needs Must have excellent verbal and communicate skills to convey concepts clearly, effectively and persuasively with technical teams, management, users and customers

• Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships

• BA/BS degree (Masters preferred) in Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, related field or equivalent practical experience

• Knowledge & experience with "Outcome Driven Innovation” & "Jobs to be Done” theory/methods
