UX Design Engineer 4

12-24 month contract

Lehi, Utah

Job Summary:

We are looking for an innovative designer who loves to make the customer experience better and who can lead and influence others. At FamilySearch, we strive to make amazing, inspiring experiences that strengthen individuals and families as they Client who they are and where

This senior user experience designer will work closely with the product manager to create the design and creative vision for products that inspire delightful family history experiences. The position leverages years of experience in building products for the web, including responsive

web/mobile-first design. The designer will be responsible for gaining deep insight into users' behaviors and goals through user research and product discovery to create amazing product experiences. This position will work closely with the product manager and team members on new products, product updates, and third-party technology. This person will serve as an advocate for user experience through consistent brand and design principles, well-designed interactions and well-designed visual interfaces. This designer may oversee and mentor other designers and will serve as a leader for FamilySearch's product delivery direction.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in web design, interaction design, computer science, or related field or equivalent related experience.

• At least 6 years of relevant experience.

• Expect to provide a portfolio of projects you have designed highlighting your problem-solving and design process.

Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:

• Advanced expert in the UX lifecycle with competencies in analysis and requirements gathering, user research, usability testing, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, rapid and high-fidelity prototyping, and analytics.

• Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.

• Knowledge and skill in design workflows, user conceptual model design, ability to design screens and page flows.

• Understand UI technologies, standards, and specifications, WAI accessibility guidelines, create low-fidelity UI prototypes with wireframes, paper prototypes, etc. and high-fidelity UI prototypes using Figma, Sketch, Invision, HTML, and other best practices.

• Experience in designing native mobile apps a plus but not required

• Ability to speak Mandarin and read/write simplified Chinese a plus but not required
