Lead SDET- Data Platforms

Location: Remote anywhere in the continental US (lower 48 states).  Cannot work outside of the U.S.

Job Description:

 

We are supporting a Senior Director in the Quality Assurance space, who is looking for a talented, Lead SDET.

 

The Lead SDET is at the Associate Director level for our client with major opportunities for increased leadership down the line.  While mentorship and leadership are a part of this role, it is vital that the person in this role is still hands on and capable of doing IC duties.  Coding in Java and experience in an AWS environment is a must for this role since our client really has an organization of true SDET’s and leaders from some of the best known technology companies in the world.

 

The Lead SDET will support 2 data platforms.  Must have coding skills in Java and have executed complex SQL queries.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Communications, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)

8+ years of experience in one or more of the following: software engineering and/or quality assurance

• Strong programming with Java/J2EE
• Experience working in an AWS environment and using those services
• Strong QA experience
• Ability to mentor and lead junior staff
• Team management experience
• Strong QA mindset – curious, meticulous, willing to speak up
• Approaches QA with solid process learned from experience
• Strong SQL skills

 

Preferred qualifications:

• AWS
• Experience with Spark, Scala and/or Hive
• Financial industry
