Job Description

The Role: Project/Product Manager – Product Acceleration
The Location: New York, NY (Downtown)
Duration: 2 year contract


Client is looking for an experienced high level Project/Product Manager with exceptional communication skills/soft skills . 

This is a highly visible initiative within the enterprise. It’s an Acceleration Project that received special funding. Client will be building a new platform and accelerating commodities products to the market as well as cleaning up the data and tagging it with a lot more information.

The Product Manager needs to have a minimum of 15 years of experience interfacing with all different levels, from the C suite to developers. He/she needs to have experience on transformational projects. Needs to also be able to talk to finance and understand budgeting. They will have a dotted line to Finance.

Knowledge of Agile is a must but not on an agile PM level. They have a team for that. This person needs to be familiar with user stories and JIRA, etc because they are an Agile shop.

There will be some travel to London required - approximately once a quarter. 

  • Interact with and work alongside driven senior executives, department leaders, technology leaders and product managers to drive program success with deliverables in 2020/2021
  • Embrace the challenge of managing multiple matrixed work streams including stakeholder expectations and communications plans
  • Plan and monitor work streams from initiation through completion.
    • Manage project timeline and proactively utilize both quality control and risk management activities to ensure project deliverables are met
    • Develop and execute communication, engagement and awareness campaigns related to projects/programs
    • Monitor and report on project progress; identify and mitigate risk to ensure all remain on track
  • Aid in development and maintenance of key project performance indicators; Present/Share reports on progress as well as risks/problems and solutions; Evaluate and assess results
  • Initiate improvements to enhance the efficiency and the quality of the work performed on assigned projects.

Required Qualifications
  • 15 years or more of experience and proven success in project/program management within a corporate environment with proven success leading projects or programs
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Collaborative work style with ability to adapt to change, solicit input, influence, and support decision-making
  • Ability to have multiple projects and tasks in flight at once, in various stages
  • Strong service orientation and high standards of excellence and business enablement
  • Excellent listener; seeks broad input and feedback; employs frequent and effective follow-up
  • Strong facilitation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities; ability to have multiple projects in flight at once, in various stages
  • Ability to drive large scale initiatives having many stakeholders and partners with little direction or guidance
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (25% annually)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working cross-culturally with varied colleagues in a global environment
  • Experience working with senior partners to develop and communicate at a strategic and tactical level
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a solid track record developing and using metrics
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting culture change and business transformation
  • Communications/marketing/public relations experience
