Job Description

Job Title: Control Systems Engineer

Location: Sandy, UT

Duration: 6 month+ contract, long term

Pay Rate: $45-55.00 Hour W2 DOE


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In coordination with the Project Managers makes sure the project procedures of the company and project are met.

Manage small Control Systems Projects.

Ensure that the Controls Systems Projects meet client needs and expectations.  Must be competent in one or more programming languages. 

Report on status of all projects during execution and upon completion.

Must be able to prepare engineering estimates for new projects.

Responsible to oversee scheduling and budget of projects as executed by the Project Managers.

Must be able to program independently and be resourceful in programming skills.

Must be able to check and verify others control system work.

Should be able to train other Controls personnel.

Ensure that the control system design engineering services are commensurate with professional codes and standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives.

Participate in proposal presentations and business development activities as needed.

Ensure that the Project Managers establish the scope of work and level of effort required for each project, consistent with estimated hours and deliverables committed to in the project proposal. Reviews and approves engineering schedule and cost data input.

Interface with Project Managers to determine specific project staffing needs.

Meet with Project Managers weekly to review projects and make necessary adjustments to keep projects within budget and on time.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, a minimum of 5 years controls experience, capable of managing control projects. 

Requires a high level of technical knowledge as well as excellent leadership, interpersonal, employee and demonstrated client relationship skills.

Requires a thorough understanding of the capabilities and limitations of various DCS and PLC software packages and general automated engineering and design equipment to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments.

Consulting Engineering experience preferred.

Excellent communication both written and verbal and interpersonal skills.
