Job Title: Corrosion Project Manager

Work Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Duration: Contract, 6-8+ months

Pay range: $55-$75/hr DOE

Position Summary:

This position provides project management and technical support for corrosion control projects related to design, maintenance, construction, and operation of natural gas transmission facilities. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides engineering support on projects.

Devises innovative solutions to problems encountered.

Conducts economic and technical feasibility studies, investigates various alternatives, and makes recommendations on courses of action.

Verifies technical specifications and plans including materials and equipment required.  Makes recommendations to drive project-related decisions on engineering problems and methods.

Provides support to engineers, field crews and designers, and prioritizes work assignments.

Assists in the development of project design basis and execution plans.

Leads internal and external resources to solve problems associated with new or existing pipeline facilities.

Provides engineering/technical information and advice and investigates all variables for consideration of potential solutions.

Coordinates project resources and monitors work performance in alignment with business objectives.

Communicates with business partners to determine needs and satisfaction, current status and priorities, obtain technical advice; outline work plan and assign responsibilities and scope of authority.

Budgets and forecasts projects per the company policy and procedures.

Uses business management skills in the effective completion of work assignments, including contract negotiation/oversight and budget management.

Verifies that work products conform to applicable codes, standards, specifications and requirements of the internal/external business partners.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering).  

Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. 

Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to recognize, analyze and recommend alternative solutions to problems and issues. 

Proficient in the use and application of desktop programs (Excel, Word, Outlook and Project) and aptitude necessary to operate software related to work requirements. 

Ability to work well with other team members who are geographically dispersed and adjust to continuously changing priorities.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Travel and after-hours work, as required.  

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote locations, on adverse road conditions, with some out-of-area travel. 

Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of and prior experience with pipeline corrosion control including CFR 49 Part 192 Subpart I, National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) standards or certifications.
