Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Service Technician
Location – Norristown, PA
Duration - Contract to direct-hire, long-term
Pay rate - $20 - $25/hr DOE
Travel:  Approximately 15-20%
Level I and Level II positions available

Job Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of tasks to ensure production quality standards are met.
Repairs and calibrates instruments and/or adjusts unit to meet manufactures specifications.
Electronic circuit prototype component procurement, assembly & functional verification.
Board assembly programming, circuit testing and modification implementation.
Assistance with execution of in-house or out-house product design qualification testing such as EMI/EMC, Safety, Drop, Shock, Water Ingress, etc.
Build and functional verification/validation of board and product subassembly test fixtures.
Creation & validation of manufacturing and/or service center method sheet documentation.
Service Center support such as test fixture or product failure/repair circuit troubleshooting and analysis.
Participation in accuracy validation of product structure BOM's & assembly documentation during prototype subassembly and product assembly builds.
Create and submit engineering changes (ECN's).

Job Requirements:
Associate or Bachelors degree or combination of relevant experience.
1-3 years of work experience as an Engineering Technician with product repair/service and complex electronic products.  (Level I)
4+ years of work experience as an Engineering Technician with product repair/service and complex electronic products.  (Level II)
Expertise in setting up and using Test & Measurement equipment in the troubleshooting of electronic products: DMMs, O-Scopes, Insulation Testers, Power Supplies, etc.
Experience handling/testing High Voltage (HV) circuits.
Expertise using mechanical tools: drills, saws, grinders, etc.
Ability to read/understand product design schematics, assembly documentation, and component datasheets.
Expertise using hand tools to repair electronic board assemblies and wiring harnesses: hand tools, soldering irons, contact crimpers, heat guns torches ,etc.
Understanding of product test & calibration methods and fundamentals.
Experience working safely with High Voltages, 1kV to 80kV
Must be capable/willing to work with high voltage cable fault locating instruments.
Ability/Willingness to travel up to 15-20%.
Demonstrated ability to use basic PC Office S/W applications to document repair efforts in detail
Able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
