The Project Management Office (PMO) Manager is responsible for providing IT project management leadership and analytical support. The PMO Manager contributes to the daily IT PMO operations to ensure effective IT project delivery, resource planning, team collaboration, risk assessment, change management, and reporting across the IT department. This position closely interfaces with internal and external resource including business owners, end users, technical staff, consultants and vendors. The scope of work includes performing and facilitating complex company-wide IT program launch and change management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Be the primary key contact for delivery of high visibility and higher risk IT initiatives and programs. Contribute to the formulation of approved business plans, operating plans and budgets in line with IT strategic goals and objectives.
  • Create a transparency to tracking and reporting on project status, cost, and risk. Establish and manage processes supporting the Project Steering Committee. Streamline communications between IT stakeholders, project sponsors and business unit. Track and report on project portfolio performance. Provide a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritized view of IT projects.
  • Develop positive relationships with business partners. Work with the business owners to ensure that requirements are documented and agreed upon prior to project initiation. Work with the business units to establish project timelines, scope, resources and effort. Articulate the business impact including workload, cost, limitations and risk.
  • Coordinate and facilitate IT governance. Produce and maintain a comprehensive listing of committed IT projects and new project requests.
  • Provide IT project management support. Assist and advise IT project sponsors and teams to the best use of project management disciplines and approaches.
  • Help IT leaders on resource planning, report and manage issues relating to any critical resource conflicts. Take a leadership role in exploring and analyzing new services, application functions and technologies, assist in ROI research and RFP processes.
  • Perform continual service improvement activities. Work with business and key IT partners, in the continual improvement of IT services within the company. Work with the business to define and plan for IT service management needs across the enterprise, prioritize problems and enhancement requests, support all IT service management delivery.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across IT programs. Build relationships with IT stakeholders at all levels. Mentor less experienced project managers.
  • Assist with IT stakeholders in change management and communication. Ensure adequate system test and user acceptance test are performed before project launch. Ensure users receive appropriate training and accurately updated documentation. Ensure support activities are executed on time and under budget. Ensure that system or service availability meets agreed upon service level agreements.
  • Participate in annual IT budgeting and planning, assist IT leaders to ensure that capital and expense spend are in alignment with budget and forecast.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field from a four-year college or university.
  • 5 year experience in Project Management, with at least 2 of those years managing IT projects. Client industry experience is preferred.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills. Collaborates well with all levels of internal and external resources, ability to work directly with executives, end users and consultants. Must be able to handle many responsibilities at once with priorities. Must be able to ensure consistent performance without supervision.
  • This position requires strong ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • In-depth understanding of information technology, network, security and application systems. Knowledge and experience with below systems are preferred.
