JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a Mid-Sized financial institution that is looking to add a Network Automation Engineer to their team on a temp to hire basis. This person will be responsible for assisting the team introduce automation to their environment.
 
Essential Job Duties:
•    Design, implement, manage and support the following:
o    Switches and routers (Cisco Nexus Series)
o    Firewalls (Checkpoint, Fortinet)
o    Proxies (Bluecoat)
o    load-balancers and WAF (F5)
o    VPN appliances (Pulse Secure & F5),
o    Authentication servers (RSA SecurID, Cisco Client)
o    SSL / PKI
o    Wireless networking (Cisco WLC, Meraki)
o    DNS, DHCP, IPAM
o    Network monitoring probes and packet analysis
o    Connections to external entities, including connections to the Internet, market data providers, business partners, vendors, and other divisions of the firm
o    Create and maintain written documentation and diagrams for all products and networks
•    Participate in configuration, and troubleshooting of company's network infrastructure and services, including switches, routers, LAN/WAN, firewalls, load balancers, Wi-Fi and VPN devices, WAN protocols, and knowledge of dynamic routing protocols, low latency design.
•    Deploy and stabilize code, technologies, services, networks, systems, and drive standardization and automation.
•    Provide subject matter expertise, resolve complex break/fix scenarios, engaging broader teams as necessary; partner with vendors, and regions to achieve continuous improvement.
•    Provide support off-hours and remotely (i.e. from home) when needed
•    Serve as the final escalation point for Network Operations and Service Desk for network-related issues
 
Qualifications:
•    8-10+ years of experience supporting computer networks in a mission-critical environment
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting real-time market data and trading
•    Certification and/or training with vendor-neutral or vendor-specific focus
•    Basic understanding of operating system administration (Windows and Linux)
•    Scripting experience in Perl, PHP and Python and ability to write code that interfaces with remote APIs and information services (e.g. REST, JSON, and XML)
•    Experience working with network automation/orchestration and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef and/or equivalent technologies.
•    Familiarity setting up network connections with multiple cloud providers such as Azure.
•    Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
