Senior Cost Engineer
Irvine, CA
6 month contract to hire
Up to $57.85 an hour
Successful candidate will report directly to the Manager, Cost Estimating and is responsible for developing cost estimates for parts and cost deltas for all engineering changes. Leads all efforts to determine and document cost structures for selected commodities in various module groups and works with Engineers, Buyers and Finance in cross-functional teams tasked with achieving the best purchased costs for parts and tooling for the company.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent Supply Chain Management experience. Supply Chain Management, Finance or Engineering (preferred)
• Ten to fifteen years of overall experience including some automotive experience (OEM or Tier 1)
• Cost Estimating Expertise/Experience is required.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost structures is required.
• Knowledge of Cost Estimating processes, procedures, and software and the ability to implement effectively and in a timely basis.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Fact based negotiation skills.
• Must display ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and negotiate and execute contingency plans.
• Must be able to accept personal responsibility and accountability for major analytical and planning assignments.
• Communicates directly with management and cross-functional leaders as required.
• Strong teamwork skills. Able to develop consensus and move the program forward. Develop win-win situations.
• SAP experience desired, not required.
