Solutions Architect
Irvine, CA
Pay up to: $76/hr, DOE

  • Understanding the code-base, framework, architecture, and patterns that drive existing systems.
  • Understand the build and release process and be ready to manually manage and configure builds outside of the automated continuous build and release system if necessary.
  • Digest at least one sub-section / week of the Master Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and critical schemas that support all companies' online systems.
  • Drive process improvement as a leader and participate in brown-bag presentations to the IT development group for shared learning and growth.
  • Ability to mentor others on best practices in top-level and detailed design documentation with best practices in UML. 
  • Proficiency in UML design tools such as Borland Together Architect
  • Differential point of view on various WC3 doc types for DHTML and ability to mentor and serve as expert role in code reviews for front-end developers using the box model
  •  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.  Framework design implementation experience including prior creation of processes and supporting architecture to customize and implement specific and measurable improvements to MVC Frameworks such as Struts / Spring
  • Mastery-level aptitude using Eclipse IDE, including advanced features, plug-ins, and metrics
  • Supervisory-level experience with software change management and version control.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience creating and working with SOAP and WSDL-based Web Services.
  • Exposure to several front-end frameworks such as Tapestry and various AJAX implementations
  • Hands-on exposure and demonstrated understanding of Java NIO HTTP Handling and detailed configuration of Apache / Jakarta Frameworks
  • Hands-on exposure with RESTFUL API calls, JSON, and performance-oriented handling logic for improvement and load consideration pertaining to rich front-end user interfaces.
  • Strong proficiency with a large multitude of GoF and OO Patterns.
  • Mentor-Level point of view on OOAD concepts including CRC Cards & Object modeling rules.
  • Strong point of view on how to manage using SCRUM/Agile, as well as ideas for the best way to tailor a development teams' unique project needs, including automation, ANT, Jira, JUnit, TDD
  • In depth understanding of TCP/IP and N'Tier networking concepts with load balancing, round-robin, failover, failback, High Availability (HA), sticky sessions, and Java Server configuration for session affinity
  • Experience defining security design patterns that map to regulatory guidance, security standards and policies for cyber compliant solutions as well as validation of existing security controls.
  • Experience embedding security into business solution design as a Security Solution Architect.
    Familiarity with information security technologies and their application to customer challenges.
    Ability to identify threats, vulnerabilities and consequences and design appropriate responses.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity architectures and tools and financial regulatory guidance and industry best practices.
  •  Understanding of Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) assessment tools.
     Knowledge of NIST Cyber Security Framework processes and associated standards and policies.
     CISSP (or equivalent)
  • Preferred: SABSA, TOGAF, SANS GIAC, CISM, CompTIA Security+ CE
Experience Required:
  • 5-8+ years as comprehensive Java / J2EE expert guru with hands-on experience in the following:  Java language concepts and packages including Servlet, Portlet, EJB 1-3, EJB Remote Interfaces, JMX, JMS and various approaches to Message Queue, IIOP/CORBA, RMI, JNI, JFC/Swing, Java 2D, multi-threading, Aspects (AOP), algorithmic programming with geometry, as well as specific JVM debugging and performance tuning analysis / strategies, LDAP and directory tree manipulation.
  •  Highly skilled in JavaScript, Ajax, CSS, HTML, as well as XML / XSLT.
  • 5-8+ years professional software development life cycle (SDLC) experience in Enterprise Java (JEE) based web applications in several flavors of Unix as well as Windows environments.
  • 5+ years direct experience with Hibernate, JPA, EJB3 and ORM persistence frameworks.
  •  3+ years direct hands-on experience working with Tomcat-based Java Servlet Applications.
  •  2+ years working for hands on with Sybase stored procedures or equivalent RDBMS
     Application Security – secure software coding practices and OWASP: Open Web Application Security Project.
  •  Information/data security – encryption, obfuscation, tokenization and PKI.
     Identity and Access Management, Governance, and Assurance – biometrics, privacy, privilege management, attestation.
  •  Network Security –defense, forensics, security data analysis, penetration testing, network device monitoring, intrusion detection and patching and perimeter  defense.
