Telecommunications Engineer 2

12-24 month contract

Riverton, Utah

This position provides the advanced design, implementation and commissioning of carrier provided telecommunications services worldwide to enable the data and voice communications of the Church globally. This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with network engineering and digital communications teams on connectivity designs
  • Design and support call routing external to Church facilities
  • Coordinate implementation of procured services
  • Qualify new telecom vendors in partnership with Vendor Management Office
  • Respond to vendor procurement inquiry
  • Procure telecom services (assess market options, place order)
  • Review and assess contract renewals for existing services
  • Analyze invoices to validate contract compliance as requested
  • Consult with the Areas on telecom services
  • Coordinate implementations across multiple projects
  • Resolve escalated procurement issues
  • Coordinate resolution of vendor service issues as required

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Work Experience:

  • 4 years of experience in telecommunications services
  • Working knowledge of Telecommunications protocols. Including SIP, TDM.
  • Understanding of call routing, voice trunking, DID’s toll free/DNIS routing etc.
  • Working knowledge of WAN/LAN protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, DHCP. IPaddressing/subnetting, OSI model

  • Telecommunications contracting and procurement

  • Data analysis techniques
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven exceptional negotiation skills with partners and vendors
  • Solid interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented

  • Self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Ability to create and improve defined processes
