Title:  Windows Engineer Lead 9Financial Services)
Location:  NYC (midtown)
FT PERM ROLE - Direct Hire w/Client 

Job Summary:
The Windows Engineer Lead is responsible for directing a staff of engineers in the design, development, implementation, and support of all Windows Operating Systems, including monitoring and controlling the performance and status. The Windows Engineer Lead supports the Infrastructure Lead in defining and planning future Windows OS needs, ensuring the accuracy of related project business cases and that any proposed solution meets a service need.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and vision to the overall Windows OS engineer group
  • Manage and track project demand, timeline, budget, risks, issues and dependencies
  • Oversee effort to ensure projects follow IT standards and security policies
  • Direct effort to evaluate, recommend, integrate and coordinate Windows OS enhancements
  • Partner with Infrastructure Architects to ensure that modifications interact appropriately with other infrastructure components
  • Oversee Windows OS development, configuration and installation efforts including testing and performance analysis that meet the needs of our Business
  • Direct effort to plan all activities associated with the support and maintenance of the infrastructure
  • Oversee effort in providing support to production service requests and incidents and perform routine maintenance and support activities
  • Oversee effort to perform routine Windows OS analysis and evaluation on resource requirements necessary to maintain and/or expand service levels
  • Direct effort to develop and recommend technical strategies and solutions to maintain and/or expand service levels
  • Keeps project stakeholders informed. Uses any tools that are appropriate. These include project status reports, meeting minutes, and face to face meetings
  • Work with various teams and assist with defining, eliciting, and formalizing requirements for the projects you are working on
  • Identify and manage risks. Recognize issues and proactively create ways to mitigate their impact
  • Provide administrative support with projects, vendors, and back office activities
  • Responsibilities of the team include Windows Server and Windows Desktop enterprise application such as Active Directory, Exchange, performance monitoring, and software distribution.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
  • 8+ years relevant work experience
  • Powershell Scripting a must
  • Strong people management, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be articulate and possess outstanding written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Must work well in a high-pressure environment and keep cool under stress.
  • Strong technical skills in areas of OS and enterprise applications.
